Some months ago I decided to write an autobiography. Mainly to pass down to future generations of my family some history of my life- just something personal as a family heirloom. Before long the writing of the book took on a life of it's own and traveled in directions I had not expected. Now, it's a published book listed in the "book" section of this website.

BUILDING SAND CASTLES- A Baby Boomer's Journey Through Addictions paints a personal picture of the challenges I have faced during my almost 60 years relating to compulsions and addictions. What? While many behavioral health care providers may feel overwhelmed with the lack of success in treatment of addictions and compulsions, my life story illustrates how change opportunities can happen at the most amazing moments. I am now receiving a flood of calls and emails from readers who seem to relate to some elements of my life journey. For that I am deeply gratified. It was frightening to get so personal in a published work - but apparently there are some universal issues that touch many people.
